Limits and limitations
- Each image can be up to 25 MB and up to 100 images can be added. Large images can fail if the browser runs out of memory.
- Each image is redrawn upright by your browser before it is added, so photos that store their rotation in EXIF data appear the right way up. JPG images are saved again as JPG at high quality, which can change them very slightly. PNG and WebP images are stored losslessly.
- The PDF contains pictures only. It is not searchable, and text in photos is not recognised.
- Transparent areas of PNG and WebP images are kept in the PDF and show the page color, which is white.
- Files can be large because images are not recompressed to a smaller size.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Your images is processed by JavaScript running in your browser and is not sent to a server. The page itself still loads from a web server like any website. This site can load advertising or analytics scripts, but only after you accept them in the cookie notice. They are separate from the tools, which never pass the files or text you work with to them.
Can I put several images on one page?
No. Each image gets its own page.
Will phone photos come out sideways?
No. Photos are turned upright using their orientation information before they are placed on the page.
Why is my PDF so large?
Images are placed at their original resolution. To make the PDF smaller, reduce the images first with the image compressor or resizer.
